Here’s the rest of the Giant Steps exercise, again with the emphasis on rhythmic motifs.
While you’re at it, check out some of the note choices over the chords.If they seem strange to you, then there is something further to be gleaned here. Think about possibilities for altering the dominant chords. Compare them to the Altered Scale or the Diminished Scale. Most alterations will be found in one or the other of these scales. Also, look to see if the last eighth note over a chord anticipates the following chord.
As always, play this exercise with a metronome at a tempo that is slow enough so that you can play through without stopping. This is especially important when working on rhythmic accuracy. Enjoy!
